This place was recommended to us and we are happy we made it here. Friendly and warm ambiance. Suggestions were helpful. Very close to where we live so we really wanted this to be a great option for us. The sake flight was excellent and can't wait to come back to do the premium flight. Uni was fresh and very good. We sat at the sushi bar and next time will let the sushi chef make the choices for us. We highly recommend and will be back.

Stopped here on our way to the airport for a quick lunch. Started off with the chicken karage which was lightly friend and didn't feel too oily which I liked. We ordered 3 hand rolls which were alright and didn't have a lot of spice which I was looking for. The Japanese fried rice was a huge portion and really tasty. Overall ambiance of this place was very casual and quick service.

I was incredibly excited to try out this sushi spot, and what a treat it was! The front of house staff, including our waiter, were all nice, helpful, and very attentative. Other waiters even pitched in to make sure we had water and got our order put correctly. The food was very nice here. We ordered the pink lady roll and the YJC roll. The pink lady roll was a nice sushi roll that featured a scallop and yellow tail. It was overall a nice roll, but nothing too crazy. The YJC roll was very tasty and was definitely the star of the two, in my opinion. If you like cream cheese rolls, you will enjoy this one as well. I was still hungry after this and de ides to order the unique soy ding strawberry Shortcake roll, and all I can say is WOW! This roll was so unique and so tasty. Every bite tasted different. Even the same bite had different tastes depending on how it rolled around over your tongue! Do not miss the opportunity to order this roll! It is the perfect way to end your meal here! The pricing is nice, and there were plenty of nice seating options all around. I will definitely be back to have more sushi from here!

The food was delicious. Although I found it strange to find sushi which included strawberries. The service was excellent. Ambiance was romantic and fun.

The skinny: Fresh fish, but overall price and vibes don't measure up to other similar better places in Denver. Yummy but there are better spots for the price (Go to Uchi, Sushi Ronin, or Sushi/Izakaya Den instead) Overview: We came here with reservations for a bday celebration on a Saturday night. Had heard some good things so were excited to try it out. The overall experience left me a bit disappointed and I honestly was contemplating a 3 vs 4 score. Overall, there are just better overall experiences at other sushi spots. For food we had a variety of nigiri which were great. The other sushi rolls & apps left a little to be desired. Standouts: Uni, Hotate, Hamachi, fatty tuna. Fresh, flavorful, melt in your mouth. Left something to be desired: Wagyu sushi roll, Jalapeño yellowtail sashimi. Wagyu roll, while you could tell the meat was good, it didn't quite balance for me. Maybe the nigiri where there was more meat to rice ratio would be better. The rice was a bit too packed and almost smooshed (vs fluffy with the ability to feel out the different grains of rice). Jalepeno yellowtail was decent but in terms of flavor combos - I've had much better at places like Uchi, Sushi Ronin. Ambiance: While the spot looks really cute, the service and vibes left a bit to be desired. The host was super friendly, but the staff otherwise felt a lot more transactional than friendly. Normally this isn't an issue for me but for a pricey spot I expect a certain level of service. For example, most high end sushi spots focus on detailing the menu, telling you what is freshest, and provide recommendations. The overall experience of going through the menu is a part of a higher end sushi place - Sushi Sasa lacked this. They also came by after we finished our food and asked if we wanted to order more, we had said no to food expecting to see a dessert menu. Instead they cleaned the table and brought over the check. Finally, I would have expected at least something small done for a bday celebration but that did not happen either. Again, normally not a big deal, but for the price, I would have expected more. Would I come back: With so many great sushi spots at a similar price point, I probably wouldn't come back. The overall food quality didn't make up for what was lacking in ambiance and service. I'd hit up Uchi, Sushi Ronin, or Sushi/Izakaya Den!

So we've been here a handful of times but this last time, we got a lot of great items and I was super impressed. Food: (1) 6 piece of A5 wagyu appetizer: Incredible. Worth the price. Melt in your mouth. Beautifully seared. Nice flavor. (2) Madhi Nigiri: Melt in your mouth. I have to say, better than Uchi's (3) Tempura Veggie Roll: Wasn't my favorite, quite bland in my opinion. Needs a sauce of some sort. (4) Strawberry Shortcake Roll: Pretty good but not my favorite. Has cream cheese and strawberry. (5) Unagi: Melt in your mouth (I think you see a theme here). So good. (7) Bluefin otoro nigiri: Yum!! I always say if I can cut the fish with my tongue, it's perfect. I could ;) (8) Caterpillar Roll: Was good but nothing to write home about. I think the resolution is to get more nigiri!! Service: Attentive. I will say when we were here previously, service was not good (super busy And waited 2 hours for all our food). So seems hit or miss. Ambience: Higher end, white table cloths but still approachable.

Dear God, this place is amazing. Service is always on point. Love the white linen atmosphere. The toro and tuna sashimi dishes are perfectly prepared. I could fill up on just the nigiri section alone! The fried rice the the literal best I've ever had. Good lord, the running egg there is so good. Grilled Artichoke, also bomb. Oyster with a runny Quail Egg, also fire. Love the snake river foie gras and mis ramen. Will be back!

Lovely dining experience at Sushi Sasa! The fried rice was delicious and came in a sizable portion. The sushi rolls were good, but the nigiri pieces were the highlight - splurged for the wagyu and the fatty tuna. Great spot for a date night or a small group!
